HOPE

Hope for the Hopeless

Renewed Hope. Stress and Grief Relief Now!
Despite the progress of civilization, advances in technology, and reductions in war, poverty, and hunger around the world, hopelessness remains rampant. People everywhere continue to struggle with life like never before. Consider some of the following facts:
1

Record Levels of Stress

According to a 2019 Gallup poll, Americans are now among the most stressed people in the world (tied for 4th). What’s more, worldwide, negative experiences matched those in 2017, which The New York Times reported as “the darkest year for humanity in more than a decade.”

2

An Epidemic of Anxiety

According to the American Psychological Association, the U.S. is in the midst of an anxiety epidemic. In 1980, only 4% of Americans suffered with an anxiety related mental disorder. That number today is 51%. “Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S.” according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

Prolonged Grief

In the U.S., in 2018, 14 million people suffered the death of someone in their immediate family. Losing someone to suicide can be even more traumatic, and difficult to work through. Debilitating grief can also be caused by divorce (which can be especially difficult on children and teens), the loss of a pet, a job, a business, or a home. Sadly, the way people are often led to deal with grief can slow or even undermine the grieving process, leading to dangerous, destructive behaviors, prolonged grief and even depression. Known as complicated grief (CG), this affects up to 20% of grievers (2.8 million Americans in 2018).

4

Depression on the Rise

Depression is the number one cause of disability in the U.S. and worldwide, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). In any given year, 1 in 10 adults in the U.S. is affected by depression.1 For teens, major depression increased 52% over the last decade.2 And for young adults (ages 18-25), major depression increased 63% over the same period.3 Depression is also the number one reason why someone dies of suicide.4

Suicide

“Every adversity carries with it seeds of benefits—the challenge is to ‘keep on keeping on’ until you find the benefits.”
-Dr. Joyce Brown, “The Hope Doctor”
Stress, anxiety, depression, and grief—these are all grave problems in and of themselves. But what makes it all so much worse is that, left untreated, any one of these complex conditions could easily lead to the most devastating, heart-breaking tragedy of them all—suicide. In fact, that is exactly what is happening over and over again, minute after minute, throughout the world. People from every background, and nearly every age are making the devastating decision to take their own lives. Consider some of the following statistics from the WHO (World Health Organization), and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention):
1 %
INCREASE IN SUICIDES

How much the suicide rate increased in the U.S. between 1999 and 2016.

SECONDS

How much time passes before there is another death by suicide in the world.

# 20
Leading cause

In the U.S., suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for those ages 10 to 24.

For those in the 10 to 24 age group living in the Rocky Mountains, suicide is the leading (#1) cause of death. For the rest of the world in this age group, suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death. And suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. for all ages. While suicide continues to plague our world, the good news is…

…There is hope for those who think life is not worth living!

About
Dr. Joyce's Story
Dr. Joyce Brown knows something about suicide because she’s been suicidal before. In fact, for years, Dr. Joyce Brown was sick and suffering and desperately wanted to die.
Suddenly, after pleading with God for months, she did die. But now, out-of-body and on the “Other Side,” what she discovered was not at all what she expected, or what the world had led her to believe.
Despite the intense pain and suffering she had endured for years, including the pain of rheumatoid arthritis, repeated pneumonia, and 8 failed back surgeries (5 of which were accompanied by cardiac arrest), Joyce now wanted to return to her pain-ridden life to share what she learned from God.
Today, making frequent guest appearances on television as “The Hope Doctor,” Joyce Brown, Ph.D., shares her astounding story of meeting God, the gifts she received from the experience, a divine message offering proof of God’s unconditional love, and the eternal wisdom that radically transformed, and gave new meaning and purpose to her life.
As she shares in her bestselling book, God’s Heavenly Answers, Dr. Joyce Brown’s unusually extensive Near-Death Experience offers a bright light of hope to all God’s children, and an answer to humanity’s most burning question. “How can I make certain that I will enjoy whatever happens after I die?”
Now recognized as a Diplomate by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress®, Dr. Joyce is the Founder and President of Stress and Grief Relief, Inc., a non-profit, 501c3 organization dedicated to fighting depression and preventing suicide, with a unique focus on youth.
Dr. Joyce’s story is transforming people’s lives, and helping to curb suicide in Nevada, where she lives, and across the U.S., and even in multiple countries around the world. But she needs your help to reach more people!
